Structural analyses and engineering calculations are performed to verify the adequacy of ship structures under design and operational load cases. The scope includes all-steel finite element modelling, steel weight calculations, and evaluation of local and global structural strength. Buckling, stress, and yield checks are carried out in accordance with classification society rules for new designs, modifications, and conversion projects.
